This unit really helped me to refresh my knowledge of past tense verbs. It also helped me to see how to explain when to use certain tenses of verbs. For example, I'm not sure I could have explained when to use past perfect versus past perfect continuous. When I think about Chinese language speakers and the challenges they have to understand and learn these tenses, it reminds me that I need to really be able to explain the when and why of these tense rules.
