These video lessons made abundantly clear the issues that can be created when a teacher does not apply himself to appropriate methodologies in teaching. The preparedness and attitude of the teacher in the two example lessons was vastly different and produced corresponding, vastly different results. Very basic things, like learning the students' names and using them makes a tremendous impact. You can see clearly the need for the teacher to engage the students and work to involve each student in the activity. Teacher talk time was extensive in the first lesson and it was obvious that it was not an effective teaching technique. In contrast, the enthusiasm of the teacher in the second lesson was contagious and captivated the attention of his class. He was able to have full and effective participation.
