The unit provided understanding in teaching special groups, or special classes, such as children, individual tutoring, businessmen, and company employees. The unit gave information regarding the common challenges which might be experienced by each group, and provided suggestions in the various ways a teacher can solve those challenges. The unit also gave several general characteristics that might help the teacher in understanding each group, such as, young learners tend to be more sensitive in being treated fair or unfairly, or that attendance might be irregular if a teacher is teaching a group of company employees, since they have other priorities, such as workplace obligations and family. The unit also provided helped me in understanding the different levels and types of beginners, from the absolute beginner to the beginner who is not familiar with the Roman alphabet due to his or her native language. The unit further elaborated the difference between a monolingual and multilingual class, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. The unit also helped me in understanding the importance of carrying out a needs analysis if a teacher is teaching a business English class.
