The unit provided explanation regarding conditionals and reported speech, where conditionals are sentences containing "if", and usually relates to possibilities in the past, present and the future. There are two clauses in conditionals, the "if" clause, and the main clause. The "if" clause contains the condition/requirement which needs to be satisfied in order for the main clause to be realized / come into effect. There unit also provided explanations regarding the five different types of conditionals. Furthermore, the unit elaborated on typical mistakes and errors, along with the typical kind of difficulty which students might face when learning conditionals. The unit also provided some guidance in the different types of activities which may better help students in learning conditionals. The unit also explained the difference between direct speech and reported speech. Direct speech is what somebody says to someone else directly, while reported speech is when somebody talks to someone, and that person proceeds to relay the information to a third party / person. The unit also explained on the rules which guide the structure of reported speech.
