I`m sure that troubleshooting is a major consideration in managing a successful class. Students will have different levels of prior exposure to the English language, learn at different speeds, have different reasons and interest at being there, and different personalities and confidence levels. Part of our job is to try to recognize these things about our students and consider how to most effectively minimize any negative effects. Some of the methods for achieving this appear to be a good attitude and supportive demeanor as a teacher, engaging and encouraging students as much as possible, the use of varied, interesting activities at the appropriate language level, and to always be focused on the students and their goal of learning English. I hope I now have enough of a base knowledge of teaching English as a foreign language from this course to begin teaching, and I`m very excited to get started!
