This unit teaches the productive skills of a language, writing and speaking. Although writing is an integral part of language it has a tendency to be neglected in TEFL classes. When teaching speaking skills it is as important to teach accuracy as much as fluency. One is not more important than the other. Fluency allows for more freedom and creativity when learning to speak whereas accuracy will help one feel more competent once he or she begins to properly understand grammar rules. There are several different possibilities for teaching both reading and writing. It is, once again, up to the teacher to make it as interesting as possible to capture the student's attention so effective learning can take place.
