Here I learned about the dynamics of classroom management. The unit lays out the complexities of organizing and conducting a class, from the physical arrangement of the room to the balance between teacher and student talk time. It advises a number of methods for establishing good relationships with students, such as making eye contact when appropriate, making helpful gestures, and using students' names. It also advises against a number of methods that would tarnish the rapport in the classroom: for example, calling only on the strong and weak students, or losing your temper. Behavior issues and proper responses are also covered, with an emphasis on being consistent and relaxed in disciplining students.
