Unit 1, Teachers and Learners firstly described the desirable attributes of being a teacher and highlighted the different responsibilities and roles the teacher will need to assume within the classroom. Secondly, it discussed the different types of learners that exist, breaking it down into age groups and proficiency levels from beginner through to advanced. A key lesson I took away from Unit 1 was that a good teacher is always fair, has extensive knowledge of the material being taught and is able to motivate students.
