The four aspects of the present tense which include the present simple, the present continuous, the present perfect and the present perfect continuous tense were covered in this unit. The forms, usages, student errors and activity stage teaching ideas were also discussed. There were some aspects of these tenses that even when I was a student I wasn’t very clear on like the present perfect tense. Getting a more broad spectrum was definitely a plus for me and I believe the explanation in the unit was very straight forward and helpful, which has now somewhat allowed me to get a better understanding. I did notice among some of the common student errors that a lot of English learners actually tend to make those kinds of mistakes, so it was also beneficial to know how to be able to properly correct them as well as some ways to help them understand the usages more upon getting to the activity stage.
