Unit five taught me the ins and outs of class management. I never considered using a name at the end of a sentence instead of the beginning to retain attention of the class and using random orders to question the students. Furthermore, the unit helps me to choose which class arrangement I would like to use. I would say I prefer the horseshoe when teaching a small class, because it allows me to alternate between pairwork and discussing new material without having to rearrange.
The tips for establishing rapport with the students are very useful as well. Establishing rapport for me revolves around mutual respect. I love teaching and show this very clearly in my lessons. These tips allow me to assess my skills and see where I can improve. This also goes for the tips on maintaining discipline.
