Unit 10, the video lessons, was a fascinating look at how a classroom should be run. In the first lesson the teacher does not engage with the students, doesn't get to know them or smile and be friendly. He also rushes through the work, neglecting to explain what they are doing and why, and crucially, how to complete the activities. It appears he doesn't want to be there at all. He also doesn't monitor or assess the students. The second lesson the teacher is smiling and laughing and talking to ALL the students and encouraging them to try and learn form each other also in group activities. His demeanour is much more friendly and approachable and he wants to be there and is enjoying his work!
