Unit 5 contained lots of useful information about classroom management. It began with eye contact, gesture and using your voice. I think it is very important to modulate the volume of the voice and also using pauses and gestures for effect. I would also add it is important to avoid using idioms for beginners because it can confuse them! In my own classroom I ask the students to vote on how they would like the classroom set up and we changed every term. This year I used rows, group tables and the horseshoe to good effect. Unit 5 then went on to explain the use of individual, pair and group work, which I will vary depending on the activity we will be working on. I also use peer proofreading, editing and correcting in my classrooms as I think it is important for the students to learn off each other!
