This unit introduces methodologies, discussing several different ones and then focusing in on the primary methodology of the course, which is the Engage, Study, Activate or ESA methodology. ESA seems especially helpful, not simply because of the relative simplicity of it, but the sheer adaptability of it. From the "straight arrow" lesson plan, to the ever changing "patchwork" plan, a teacher can find something that suits the given level and situation of a classroom. The examples throughout the unit should also come in handy, as they give real activities to try for each of the ESA sections.
