There will be many challenges in my attempts to explain and teach the irregularities regarding parts of speech in English. Understanding this as a native speaker is easy, but teaching a foreign student these lessons will force me to be creative. I plan to teach in Laos, and their language does not have any verb tenses (past, present, or future). I think the best way to engage and encourage my students will be through constant, stimulating, interactive conversation and practice. Rules must be learned, but most importantly they must be applied to obtain cognitive growth and fluency.
