This unit covers the four past tenses, their structure and usages, the most common mistakes students make while learning them, and gives examples of activities that can be set up in the classroom to get students to use those new tenses in the Activate phase.
Similarly to the unit on the present tenses, I did not learn anything new when it comes to the structures and usages of the past tenses. However, I will pay extra attention to the common student mistakes mentioned and I certainly use the suggested activities; I found the detective game for the past continuous a great idea to get the class excited and retain their attention, and I think the CV and job interview activities would work very well with adult learners.
