Grammar rules such as these continues to be an area which I believe I will need to study more in my spare time. I have learned a lot from these modules, such as the different present and past tenses, and I believe it is very useful to clarify these things now before beginning teaching. I have found, however, that in practice there tends to not be a lot of discussion of these rules in the classroom, or, at least, that has been my experience in China. Some students study these things intensively in their spare time, while others have never heard of them.
