This unit demonstrates the huge effect the teacher can have on their students. In the first video, the teacher in not very engaging, never using names, not making good eye contact, and coming off as rude. The teacher reprimands students throughout the lesson without even first properly explaining the concept. This is extremely discouraging to students and is not an effective way to teach. However, by the second video, the teacher show the positive effect of good rapport and effective, timely correction. His attitude is brighter and he addresses students by name rather than gesturing to elicit responses. The students are far more engaged and seem more eager to respond as a result.
