This unit covers the receptive skills of reading and listening. It covers reasons for reading, purpose and leisure, and provides examples. It also discusses how people read, i.e. skimming, scanning. Problems with listening and reading are also discussed and solutions are provided. I believe one of the most important solutions is to be sure you are teaching the appropriate content. Meaning a level that your students can understand but one that pushes them somewhat. And my making the content interesting so that they are engage and enthusiastic about the lesson.
