This unit examines some more grammar points of English - five types of Conditionals (Zero Conditional, First, Second, Third and Mixed Conditional) and their teaching ideas. It also gives detailed explanations about Direct and Reported (Indirect) Speech grammar, the change in tenses and time expressions when reporting direct speech sentences, and brings examples of typical students’ mistakes/errors. Conditionals and Direct/Indirect speech are quite complex area of English grammar, which require a gradual approach, i.e. teaching these language points in a slow and thorough manner. Clear Classification of each Conditional with appropriate examples help to easily remember the rule and give ideas of how to present these themes to students. I appreciate the detailed explanation of Reported and Direct speech section with a step-by-step guide. I also found the table of tenses backshifting to be very helpful as to understand the change in most of the tenses when Direct speech statements are being reported. This table works as a prompt/reminder when building own sentences. Task sheet exercises are a great tool to fix the gained knowledge; some of them could be used as activate stage activities in the classroom.
