In this unit I learned the system and structures of verbs in the past tense. Among these forms are past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. I each section the unit discusses the form of the verb, either affirmative, negative or question. It also gives examples of irregular verbs. Next, it describes the usages of the verb forms. The unit then describes typical student’s errors and mistakes made with the verb form. Finally, the unit gives specific teaching ideas for the activate stage of the lesson plan.
