In today's lesson, I learnt about business English. When I worked as an autoentrepreneur in France, I needed to know the specific role of students at many of the companies I taught at. For example, HR, I had to create HR based lessons. Sometimes, the client didn't know what their specific needs were. The survey presented for a needs analysis is an excellent way to elicit information from them. I found that the needs of my client changed as varying situations arose in the classroom. Then my lesson had to change for each and every class. The lawyers and heads of security that I had taught were the most challenging because not only did I have to know business law, I had to be familiar with the laws and company policies. Not knowing some of the laws was a good thing because it gave my clients a chance to tell me about the laws in English.
