Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit covers various ideas of classroom management. It contains priceless information that is so necessary for everyone who wants to teach. I picked up knowledge on how teachers can use their body language throughout lessons (eye contact, gestures, and voice) and certain approaches that will keep students attentive, encourage their participation, maintain better understanding and improve organization. I was glad to find that using students’ names at the end of the question would produce much more alertness. The unit also observes different groupings of students, discussing advantages and disadvantages of each of them, teacher’s position in the class and seating arrangements, which depend on the type of activities, students’ age, nationality and a few other factors. All of this influences the effectiveness of teaching/learning process in different stages of a lesson. With smaller classes, I would apply the circle or horseshoe seating arrangement, where I would have all students under my attention doing whatever activities, as all would be in one round-direction line, and create a friendly atmosphere in the class. This would also give the students an opportunity of being involved with less exertion, maintaining eye contact with each other and have cohesion as a team. However, I would occasionally vary seating arrangement, depending on the activity and objective of the lesson. Thanks to the complex content of the unit, I gained knowledge about the ways of reducing unnecessary teacher’s talk time, ideas of spending less time with my back to the students when working on the board, effective techniques of giving instructions, maintaining discipline and dealing with problem students.
