I believe that the biggest strengths I have as a teacher is my patience, love of teaching, and knowledge of English. When I have to wake up very early to teach a class, it is my love of teaching that gets me up. I also believe it is my subject expertise that gets parents to book classes with me and my patience that keeps them coming back to my classroom.
While I desire to teach additional student levels, I am worried that I will not be an effective teacher. It is much easier to me entertaining when teaching simple concepts and younger children, than it is with more complex topics. On the other hand, I sometimes get frustrated with lower level students when I feel that they appear to not understand me and are not making much progress. It is very rare that higher level student will give me the “blank stare” and nothing else.
