This unit contained a large amount of basic grammar, most of which I have rarely considered. I had never heard of the category of gerunds, and had to study this category more in depth. I also did know all the subcategories of nouns, adjectives, or verbs. I took an extra day to really consider my understanding of the English language and focus on trying to understand how to teach these topics to students who are trying to learn the language. I realized that although, I know the language, there are several definitions and rules about grammar that I did not fully understand.
