This unit first covered the affirmative, negative and question forms of the present simple tense, the variations that happen to the verb base form in the third person singular form, followed by the usages of present simple (ie:Routine actions, directions, etc), typical student mistakes with the present simple tense as well as ideas for activate stage teaching activities. Next the unit went over the present continuous tense discussing first the affirmative, negative and question forms of the tense, followed by an overview of non-progressive verbs and how they are typically used in present simple form. The unit then goes over the usages for present continuous (ie: describing developing situations, background events in a story, etc) followed by typical student mistakes and errors as well as activate stage teaching activities for students (ie: telling stories, actions in progress). Then the unit elaborated on the present perfect tense, first going over the affirmative, negative and question forms, next discussing the usages for the tense (ie: past action with present result), followed by correct usage of 'for', 'since', 'gone' and 'been' in sentences utilizing present perfect, then covering the existence of irregular past participles and finally going over typical student mistakes and activate stage teaching ideas (ie: Change the room, role play). Finally the unit finished off its content with an overview of the present perfect continuous tense. First delving into the affirmative, negative and question forms, next discussing usages such as communicating an incomplete and ongoing activity for example, then going over student mistakes and errors relating to the tense and finally discussing activate stage teaching ideas. This unit has taught me the basics of the present tense, its forms and usages as well as efficient methods for teaching this information to aspiring English language learners.
