This unit gives an overview of the basic grammatical structures of the English language. The different types of words have been described here: Nouns, articles, adjectives, adverbs, verbs, pronouns, prepositions and conjunctions. Each of the above with their usage and further divisions. For example nouns can be countable or uncountable, while adjectives not only have their simple descriptive functions but can also be used comparative or as a superlative. I have also found the order of adjectives, i.e. size - age - colour - material, useful. I haven't heard of this standardisation before. For most of this lesson not being a native speaker, or at least having learned another language before will be an advantage. Using correct grammar is something one does instinctively in their native language but it is obviously something that has to be learned in another language and to teach it is not enough to apply it but to know why something is used the way it is and be able to explain it.
