This unit described different approaches to teaching new vocabulary in the various stages of teaching. The engage phase can include activites with pictures, definitions, texts, or discussions. The study phase can includ crossword puzzles, gap-fill activites, or matching exercies. Lastly, the activate stage can include debates, role-playing, story-building, and other more advanced activites that get the students to use the vocabulary in more natural settings. The most important thing I learned is that there is no one correct way to teach vocabulary, but rather there are many options to choose from.
