I have learnt the importance of being punctual and well organised as this will elicit confidence from students. The teachers attitude will influence the students learning ability, A teacher needs to be friendly and open. The teacher needs to be inclusive of all students present, not focusing upon favourites and not discriminating. This will help students relax with the teacher and with their class mates. A teacher needs to speak clearly and confidently and be able to be flexible, and willing/ able to incorporate things from students into their lesson. A teacher needs to be focused and very clear when explaining what is expected from students. Being careful not to 'give' them the answers but rather continually eliciting their answers and keeping them thinking and working together. Encouraging them to self correct, then elicit peer correction and if necessary, teacher correction. If the teacher is well organised, friendly, flexible, encouraging and inclusive the students will relax and interact with each other. This way the class will run smoothly and be enjoyable for students and teacher.
