Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

In this unit, I learnt about the system and structure of past tenses which is somewhat similar to present tenses because we have past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous just like we have these in present tenses such as present simple, present continuous etc. Ofcourse, in present tense we talk about the present actions, while past tenses relate to the actions completed in past. It's important to know that students generally make mistakes while using did and did not for questions and negative forms of the past tense. Another major thing to keep in mind is the irregular verbs which may be confusing for the students and they just have to be memorized and reinforced through practice. We as ESL teachers can help them learn these irregular verb forms with the help of card games, e.g. matching present tense with the the past form (see-saw, catch-caught, eat-ate) etc. Similarly in past continuous tense, students generally make mistakes omitting -ing or verb -to be. In activate stages, detective games, or use of diaries etc. may help them get more fluent in using these tenses. We should avoid worksheet kind of activities in the activate stage and rather encourage the students to use target language spontaneously so as to maximize their language fluency.
