I learned a lot about phonology in this unit. This unit showed diagrams of the mouth and where the sounds come from and how it is made. Place of articulation and manner of articulation are where sounds come from. Place of articulation is the physical location of the sound of production and manner of articulation is how the sound is produced or how air is pass through to create the sound. Creating certain sounds depends on how we model our mouth and throat and how air is pushed through. It can explain why learns from certain country face difficulties with certain phoneme's production since they are not use/accustomed to modeling their mouth a certain way. This unit also covered intonation and stress. Stress and intonation can change how sentences that are the same to have different meanings. There are also activities and ways to teach stress and intonation in this unit as well.
