We are introduced to listening and writing as two receptive skills of language in this unit. While the purpose of reading or listening to a particular content may vary, human brain uses several skills to understand it such as scanning, skimming and deduction.
When learning a new language, some problems may arose with receptive skills but if teachers carefully select various adequate materials with interesting subject that will not overwhelm students, pre-teach the problematic words beforehand and try to motivate and engage students as much as possible, these problems will decrease.
