Unit 17 introduces a number of classroom resources and explains some good uses for them. I have personally found that every classroom I teach in is different, even within the same school, and I have wildly different resources available at different times. This has meant having to maintain lessons that are adaptable to different environments, but also means I can never fully utilize some of the equipment when I am there. It is my hope that in the future I will find a work place with at least some consistency with regards to this that will allow me to work effectively and with the resources I enjoy using. I actually dislike the blackboard immensely as the chalk makes my eyes burn and my handwriting is barely legible, so I have found many ways around that when I can – but some of my classrooms in my smaller schools tucked far into the rural mountains have only that as a recourse for the classroom and I have done the best with what I have been given.
