This unit was more difficult than I expected! The unit contained a brief overview of the fundamental parts of speech in the English language. Although I was already aware of simpler parts of this lesson, such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, prepositions, and adverbs, some parts of this unit were more difficult. For example, I wasn't sure what gerunds or verb participles were before completing this lesson. This lesson made me realize that English is much more complicated than it might initially seem to a native speaker - knowing this will help me be more patient with students in the future if they struggle to understand some of the confusing intricacies of English grammar.
