This unit was about the present tense, and the four aspects within; present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. It covers form, usage, typical student mistakes and Activate stage teaching ideas.
As a native English speaker, I use tenses naturally without giving it a second thought. During this unit, I learnt the structure behind what comes naturally, and how to identify the four aspects of the present tense within a sentence. Looking at the typical student mistakes, they were all fairly obvious to a native English speaker but knowing the structure behind present tense it becomes clear how these mistakes could happen. The new games and actives I learnt are great tools to help students understand these ideas and help fix mistakes students may make.
