This unit explains how teaching special groups should be conducted according to the specific needs of that specific category. Firstly it has been explained how to teach beginners, which are divided into: absolute beginners, adult beginners, young beginners and beginners that don’t have familiarity with the roman alphabet. Secondly, the unit gives some suggestions for teaching individual students because some activities related to the activate stage of a typical ESA lesson are impossible to do. Moreover, it has been taken into account the special group of young learners, which can be one of the most rewarding of all students classes to teach but even one of the most difficult group to handle with because of their short attention span as well as the difficulty for an inexpert teacher to handle with class discipline. Lastly, the unit describes the category of clients who needs to learn English for business or other specific purposes: with this special group, different issues can emerge such as the tiredness of these people who had been working for all the day before attending the lesson, the diversity of levels within the group and the sporadic nature of the course.
