This unit gave an overview of evaluation and testing. You can assess a student's level through tutorials, evaluation by students and test. There are four types of tests. Placement tests determine language ability and allow the student to be placed at the correct level. Diagnostic tests are designed to tell you what the student does and doesn't know. Periodic progress tests give the teacher information on how the student is progressing. Lastly, achievement tests determine if the student understands the final material.
