In this unit, the two receptive skills, listening and reading were covered. These are the two skills primarily focused on in the Japanese curriculum so I have some experience teaching them, but I have never been entirely sure that I was teaching them effectively. The reading for this unit covers the different skills needed for reading or listening to a passage, which I found particularly insightful. Along with this course I am concurrently studying for my GRE, which has a number of reading comprehension questions that are designed to call upon each of these skills. Thanks to this insight, I think that in the future I will be able to create questions in a similar manner for my students in the future.
