Unit 11 teaches us about receptive skills; reading and listening. I learned that we have a purpose for exercising these receptive skills, whether it be to achieve a particular aim or goal, or sometimes, simply, for entertainment purposes. I also learned about the different specialist skills that we use when reading and listening. Most importantly, I grasp to the fact that as a teacher I must pay attention to my students' interests, and understand that my topics of interests may not be the same as their own.
