Unit 11 reflected on receptive skills, how to teach receptive skills. It started off with why reading and listening are done. There are two reasons, in order to benefit through entertainment and in order for a purpose. The unit further reflected on how we read and listen. And under that heading there are a number of skills that readers and listeners need to employ. These are, predictive skills, scanning and detailed information. Then problems with reading were discussed and how they can be overcome. Lastly, how to outline a lesson plan for receptive skills was discussed.
