In this unit, several approaches to teaching new language were discussed in depth. Vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions were all considered as objectives for a lesson. Regarding vocabulary, factors for selecting certain words over others and methods for teaching those words were discussed. Example lesson plans drawing on the ESA method discussed in unit 3 were outlined for teaching vocab, grammar, and language functions.
This unit was in some ways a review of unit 3, though methodology was connected to content, which helped me visualize how I might present certain elements of language in class.
