In this unit, various methods of testing students were discussed. The first part of the unit focused on the use of tests to diagnose the advancement and learning of the students. All of these tests were essentially diagnostic in that they both look at report what students have understood and lead to the designing of better lesson plans. The second half of the unit focused on external tests and the many different certificates that exist around the world for the official proof of a English learner's proficiency.
