Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

In this unit, I learned about various teaching aids which could be used in ESL lessons such as IWB, black or white board, Overhead projector, videos, DVDs, CDs, cassette recorder, dictionaries, course books, resources books, computers, online resources, etc. Using a mix of these resources would help us make our lessons more interesting and effective, which in turn will help engage the students and hold their attention more effectively. Nowadays teachers prefer white boards to the old black boards, it's always helpful to make a board plan before the actual lesson, using different colours or underlining or circling to highlighting particular language points, writing legible and neatly, making different sections on the board to write vocabulary, grammar or important notes some of the basic things we need to keep in mind while using boards. OHPs can cut down the writing time on board, can be used for reading or gapfill exercises, and can be used as feedback tool for checking students' worksheets, but their set up process could be problematic. Visual aids could be helpful in communication games, or even teaching new vocabulary. They reduce teacher talk time and in fact attract students' attention. Visual medium helps in memorizing the learned language more effectively. It's is easier to engage students with the help of pictures, photos and real life objects. Videos, DVDs etc are generally part of the course books or resource books. They are helpful in supporting the information already contained in the books. They can be used for engaging students in a discussion or activities such as a comprehension. Video cameras could be helpful for recording an activity of students, and then playing it back for the students for analysis purposes. They can be used for doing video projects or recording surveys. Dictionaries contain information about a word's pronunciation, parts of speech, and its usage, therefore students should be taught to get the maximum information from them, but at the same time, they shouldn't depend too much on dictionaries from English to their native language, rather English to English dictionaries will help them develop the language more effectively.
