The forms and usages of the past tense is very similar to the present tense concept which comprises of four tenses namely; simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. They have all the subject form along with the base form on the simple tense; the auxiliary verb "be" with the verb "ing" on the continuous tense; the verb "had" plus the past participle in the perfect tense and lastly the verb "had" plus "been" with the verb "ing" on the perfect continuous. Understanding the concept now will definitely straighten up the grammar issues I had in the past.
