Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit began with an in-depth look at modal auxilary verbs. They add meaning to verbs. For example, they can turn the verb “run” into “must run”, which adds a nonnegotiable aspect to the verb. Modals can also be used to add formality to a sentence. The unit covered other uses as well for modals. I really benefited from the chart on modals and will use it to teach the finer differences between the modals. I especially liked the percentages of certainty that some of the modals create, such as must, might, and may. The passive voice was new to me. I had never thought about how active and passive voices can shift the focus to different features being expressed. The teaching ideas on that section will be most beneficial to me as I make lessons to teach that aspect of grammar. The section on relative clauses was great. I use them all the time in my sentences and never knew the name for them. Now I feel confident that I can teach them to students. The last area covered was phrased verbs. That section was the most difficult for me to wrap my mind around, as it is hard for me to remember all the background grammar needed to pick apart the particles and quickly group them by their phrasal verb types, but after reading the section over several times, I think I’m getting the hang of it. I really benefited from this unit and its teaching ideas, as it has given me a way to identify these less known grammar points and how to enjoyably teach them.
