This unit is a critical unit for both the novice and "experience" teacher. it outlines the use and rationale for the lesson plan. Most importatantly it emphazises the need of the lesson plan and that it has to be both flexible and a functional plan of what you will do, how you will do it - and how long it will take. It emphazises having materials and making sure equipment/supplies are available and functioning.... as well as being on time and greeting students as they come in to the class. This unit is also challenging in that, I had to think through the steps of the Straight arrow lesson plan. The provided lesson plan is a good model and it breaks the lesson plan teaching steps ina good and understandable format. However, it was a challenge answering the sections on the test dealing with how to teach the present perfect. It is important to remember that a "good" lesson plan provides the three phases: Engage-----Study----Activitate..... with the goal that the different phases allow the students to interact in different ways-----and it allows students to speak, be it as pairs, small group ---- or whole class. It is difficult to discern what type of lesson this is... as it does follow any of the phases:Engage—-Study—-Activate...why is that?
