When I have tutored programs in the past, I have realized that flexibility is key. It was my first time tutoring a class of thirteen kids, and getting together ahead of class with my fellow tutors really helped. We would talk about what worked and didn't work and most importantly, we would talk about the challenges we had. These discussions helped me prepare for challenges (such as timing and the understanding of the students) that I would face in my classroom.
