Unit 16 present the grammar points for conditionals and for reporting speech. While these are things I should naturally understand as a speaker of English, teaching them seems quite difficult. I found myself making numerous mistakes on the rules for reporting and not backshifting tenses when I should have. While I do teach conditionals as part of the current textbook I am required to teach out of, I had never really thought about the differences between zero, first, second, third, and mixed conditionals. Hopefully I will be more equipped to handle both of these sections the next time I am required to teach them. There were a number of great activity ideas in this section, but thanks to the task sheet I came up with another half a dozen I am excited to implement in a classroom environment.
