This unit covered the understanding and teaching of pronunciation and phonology. It began with the necessary information regarding intonation patterns and stress and included techniques for indicating and teaching both. This unit also covered the phonemic alphabet and how valuable it can be in helping students learn pronunciation of the english language. It also conveyed the importance of teaching pronunciation as it is often overlooked which can be a disservice to students.
