I have always been very particular about using proper grammar in both my speech and writing. As a literacy teacher in an international school, it is even more important for me to model proper grammar. I think that, more than learning something new this time, I'm reminded of how complex the English language is. As I worked through the unit, I began to reflect upon my own pathway to learning the intricacies of English grammar. It definitely took many years of practice and explicit teaching for me to reach my current level. The contents of this unit have made me realize more than ever how important it is to be creative and patient as I teach grammar to others.
