This unit is a comprehensive discussion about classroom management and how the teacher's role, the lesson and the classroom setting affect what the teacher does or does not do. The introduction makes a distinguish between introvert and extrovert teachers, stated that extroverts can make good teachers, while extroverts are viewed as amusing/entertainers. I disagreed with the latter part of this statement. Extroverts get students motivated, and their enthusiasm (genuine) move the lesson along, this type of teaching helps the student and the teacher stay focused. The lesson segues to eye contact and classroom monitor and depending on the activity/lesson discusses the importance of the "dominance" and placing of the teacher. Whether the teacher stands or sits has a bearing of the atmosphere of the class. I like the discussion on group, pairing and individual work; and how a balance is necessary to reach all students. The section on writing on the board was stated very well; and I understand how that reduces STT. at the same time the discussion on TTT versus STT is important for the teacher to be aware. The section on the sitting arrangements: circle/horseshoe, separate tables and rows is a must awareness. The last section rapport is a good list to have visible for everyday teaching circumstances. A prepared and positive teacher eliminates possible behavior issues.
